Hi Guys,

I received a couple of these baits two days ago, yesterday i tried them for the first time and on my third cast the tail on the bait broke. I have seen numerous posts mentioning this problem and was wondering what can be done to remedy the situation. I just sent an email to TW asking them for instructions on what to do. I see some posts asking for information on how to contact Jerry Rago but my feeling is that since this appears to be a common problem, the customer should go back to the retailer and have them either replace the bait or issue a refund. Am I correct?

I just read an article in Bass West magazine where Jerry stated that most anglers are overhead casting. He only sidearm casts and that reduces the chances of the bait hiting the water tail first causing it to break. I only throw side armed and mine hasn't broken yet either. Just a thought

pick up an issue of BassWestUsa. In it Jerry mentions about people sending him raptor hardbaits with broken fins and tails. He says it's caused by overhead casting and letting the lure hit the water without slowing down the spool. He suggests throwing side-arm and slowing the bait before it lands. Supposedly he's never had any problems with his personal baits breaking.

hope that helps

I didn't even read the second post lol, my bad.

Thanks for the replies guys, i need to pick up a copy of that magazine. Where it says that people have been sending him baits for repair, does it provide an address, email, phone number or something?

Thanks again.

I am a little confused on this subject when the people that are posting with problems are people that have already contacted me. Since this was found to be a problem I have had one person mail me a bait. I have offered to replace the tail or the bait and only one person has sent me anything. If you have a real problem you can email me and I will take care of it. For you guys that have contacted me and still haven't sent me the baits, well.
