#1945, "Memo to the fishing industry"

I realize that this time of the year is when all the outdoors shows are, however it is also when fishing is getting good and hardcore anglers are stocking up for the upcoming season.
Where I am going with this is that in the last 2 months I have on at least 6 occasions been told there would be a delay or my needs would not be able to be met until after this show or I am busy right now getting ready for a show ect. This has included trying to get the dealer that I bought an 18,000 boat from in Nov. to perform mait. or warranty work, trying to buy rods from 2 different manufactures both based in ca. and some other business through the tackle shop I patronize in Sacramento.
I know that these shows are an opportunity for those in the fishing industry to seek new customers, however this should not be done at the expense of established clientele or new customers current needs.
I spend thousands of dollars a year on my fishing and could purchase alot of my equip. at Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's ect. but really prefer to keep my money local. Some of you guys are making this kind of hard lately. I have found a couple of shops recently that are willing to go the extra mile and will continue to be a customer and reccomend you.

I agree. Monday I was looking for a place to take my boat to get my throttle linkage adjusted, and was turned away because of the upcoming boat show. "does anyone know what to do, or know a good place to take my boat in for this?, in the Sacramento area.

It is just as you said it is,an industry. So if there going to stay a float and offer good local buisness and pricing they are going to have to target the majority of there potential customers.I can't really blame them.Don't get me wrong i'm a small time consumer also but when it comes to making dough...it's always going to be just buisness. There are a few that can still offer good customer service during a major show like now..and you have to to appreciate those that still do.

(spelling errrors..many i'm sure :+ )
