#2241, "Anyone know when Coyote will be open for boats?"

Hey Guys,

I know this time of year Coyote is usually closed due
to low water in anticipation for the rainy season. I
have heard rumors that they plan to continue to keep
the lake down this year to do some repairs? Anyone
have the straight scoop?

Thanks,
Mike

The road repairs are supposed to be officially finished by 12/29. The water is approx. 3' vertical from the end of the launch ramp. I've heard rumors they may do some work on the ramp after the road repairs are done, but those are just rumors. Next time I see Chris Crocket (Coyote's Sr. Ranger), I'll ask him. I can tell you that they've been scraping mud off the ramp, after the rains, with a tractor and going a little past the end of the ramp.
Tight lines,
Wade

Thanks Gents! I want to get out in this bad weather and
see if I can scare up a fish or two. Any further info
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey guys,
I haven't seen Chris but Ranger Julie said that they aren't going to do anything to the launch ramp as far as she knows. So it looks like the road will be open for the 1st and the ramp will be open to boats when there's enough water. In the mean time you can still take a Kick out there and walk it down to the water when the road is open on the weekends.
Tight lines,
Wade
