#3470, "Fishing Equipment garage storage ideas?"

Ok, just took the big leap and bought my first house, I have a blank garage just waiting for some creative attention. I am curious on finding different ideas on setting up an area in the garage for my fishing stuff, Rods, reels, tackle stuff,Baits, lures, work area for rigging rods..anyone have any ideas that you can share? Pictures? I am sure I will come up with something, just wanting to see what other people have created.....
Thanks,
Bryan

I did two things in my garage. First I built a peg board style rack to hang most of my rods on one wall. I then build some crude cabinets against another wall. The whole job cost me less than $100. As you can see in the pictures, I first assembled a 6' x 8' x 2' frame made of pine 2x4's. These measurements allow you to cut whole sheets of plywood so there is very little wasted material. The frame was anchored to the wall. I then cut one sheet of plywood in half from top to bottom to cover the sides. I then cut 2' off the end of two full sheets so they measure 6' x 4'. I split those two pieces in half and that gave me my four doors. I then used the 2' I cut off from the doors and used that to cover the top. I threw in some MDF shelving inside and applied some stain to give it color. I purchased and installed 8 hinges and 4 door handles and I was done. This gave me plenty of room for my fishing gear and just as much room for my wife to store plenty of her favorite junk too. Being only 6' tall, you still have room to stack more junk on top of the cabinets. You can tweak the design to fit your own needs. Good luck!
