I really like Liddell.... and I would like to see him win... but I have to give it to Couture.

BTW, the way I see it, if I were into football as much as a whole bunch of America is, "I'd be out there freaking playing it ! Not watching the garbage on TV" ! .....and if I was not good enough, I'd pick another sport.

On the other hand, it's cool to watch some of the baddest guys on the planet kick the crap out of each other....... "But I would not want to be in that ring, even if I could be" :-)

The UFC promoters have got it right..... The fight is on tonight at 7pm-10pm :-)

I agree about fishing tomorrow, rather than watching the game..... but of course, you know I don't fish on weekends anyway.

who needs the UFC? I was out at a club in walnut creek thursday night... not sure what transpired but the outcome was some dude knocked out cold for over 5 minutes...(just glad i wasnt involved)

But yeah I like the UFC... I'll watch it on Spike TV when it's on. As for a favorite I don't really have one... as long as SOMEONE gets knocked out

Liddell was at the top of his game ! He broke Coutures nose in the first round. In the second round, Couture's foot slipped just a bit, and Liddell jumped on the chance and caught him good. Couture went to the mat, and Liddell followed with a couple more solid ones, and that was it.

Afterwards, Couture announced his retirement, with totally good sportmanship. It was almost sad, but that guy had his run, and they are both two of the baddest guys on the planet !!!

I would have to agree with you. Super Bowl XL was the worst game I have ever seen. The refs were absolutely horrendous and all of their bad calls favored the steelers.

I'm done with the NFL. Surely, if I could have gone fishing today, I would have.

Sorry Chris... I wish I would have seen this thread earlier, I'm an addicted UFC and any kind of MMA fan, I just can't get enough...

I was pulling for Randy to win but kinda felt like it would go just the way it did, not really with the slip but that Chuck would eventually catch Randy and knock him out. He was a true class act not even to mention the slip and to retire gracefully...

There were a few other great fights, I was really impressed by the "snowman", what a huge guy to be a jiu-jitsu and grappling expert, what a lethal combo. I hope to see some more of him in the near future.

I never would have thought you to be a UFC fan, just one more reason I respect you!

although I would rather watch UFC's on TV, than to watch fishing programs...... I would WAY rather be "actually fishing" than to be "actually fighting" in a UFC ! :-) Well okay, I would way rather be "actually fishing" than to be doing just about anything else :-) .... so with that said, I need to get myself headed towards the lake right now ! :-)

Oh BTW yes, Randy Couture was a class act ! After the fight, he thanked God for all of his blessings, and his great career, and he had not one single excuse for losing the fight. In fact, he said he came into it as trained and ready as he could have possibly been, and just couldn't pull it off. That guy is my hero ! .....although Lidell is also one very bad, but very cool dude, himself :-)

Those were not just solid ones any other man would of been dead.
Chuck Liddell is the world champion and I feel that whoever steps in the octagon with that man would just stand there and wet themselves.
My son trains at the pit-north here in the San Luis Obispo area and has had the opportunity to meet Chuck and says he's as just as bad ass as you see on TV. The kids really look up to this guy.....BassMan

You should of known the guy back in the day, when he was working the bar scene in SLO.....:o You just didn't mess with that dude! I've met and talked with him a few times, super nice guy with a great business head on his shoulders...he's investing those winnings very well...

Randy is still the man. Who else can go out and fight like that at 42!! Lidell is a great fighter and he will have a great career in the UFC. I have been watching Pride fighting a lot lately and I like that too. Although the refs and judges are corrupt but these guys are brutal. they won't tap out and arms almost get busted. Some mean Russian and Croation fighters in that mix!
