I am new to this board, but I have a quick question. I fish for striper in the delta, and when I bait fish I usually use butterflied shad, or mudsuckers. I was also considering using live bluegill in an upcoming derby. I don't really want to waste the time on derby day to individually catch the bluegill and it is illegal to transport them if I caught them early at a nearby lake--so I was thinking about using a bluegill trap. I was wondering has anyone had success using these and what would you use for bait. Thanks

I've been told that they are legal bait, however they must be used in the body of water in which they are caught. You can't catch them in a lake and transport them to the river or delta--at least not live anyways. Thanks
