Fished a club tournament this past weekend and the bite was tough. Only four fish caught. No one stroked them. x( The fish are shut down right now. Water level is incredible. Used White Oak launch and it was better. Lake is looking awesome.

Thanks for that report. Margarita can be down right tough sometimes. That lake has given me some of the best fishing days of my life and then shut me down a few days later. For the past couple months, the fish have been way off shore and schooled up. At least in the main lake they were. I'm sure there have been some shallow fish in the river and back in the coves.
I read on CCA that Lopez is pea soup right now. That's typical for this time of year. Lake turns to goo. I haven't been out there in a while but I murdered alot of small fish on spinnerbaits this time last year. Use small baits like 1/4-3/8oz in shad or white. Most of the fish are probably post spawn and they'll be really lazy :)

yeah, Lopez is definetly pea soup- fished it Saturday, the algae bloom actually looked like bright green paint on the surface where it was thick in the back of some of the cuts- bite wasn't great, just a few crank fish for us- a couple of good bags caught drop shotting the channel in Whittenburg and some flip fish caught- overall it was kind of slow- I Was going to drive to Margarita to fish with Bassimus and the club Sunday, after hearing the prefish reports I just decided to skip it in hopes for a paddy hopping mission Sunday, that didn't work out either!! :o
Phil, what's up with that green bloom? It's ugly!!
Was out to Margarita last friday for nada. Did see fish chasing bait on the surface. A bird picked off a small fish in the shallows. Had one on on a deep crank but it came off. Plan on being there again this friday. Gonna concentrate on the deep fish....BassMan
