Fished Prado with Brandon Woodward to test out some lures and get some pictures. We fished split shotted Johnsons on fallen trees and drop offs. The bass are very spoky because of the clear water?? Long story short we caught a bunch of bass biggest being I guess around 5lbs(?) caught on a chartreuse Johnsonon 4lb.

Nice one bro.. You guys gets some decent fish out of that little lake! And pretty much have the bass to yourself hunh?! seein I havent seen any thing but trout and catfish shore dudes out there.. Ive been think of hitin it for awhile now for bass seein you guys do good! You would think that lake would be a mess with all this rain and the run off situation thier..Dont they drain it every other year?? I use to fish it when I was a kid but havent been in awhile..what is that a canoe you guys are fishin?? I got a little aluminum that Ive taken out there but havent did the bass thing thier..The reed bank along that shore goin to the dam always looked like it would hold LM but I would always be fishin trout so never had pastic or jig to flip up in there! The island right at the launch looks good too!!Is there any sumerged srtucture like drop offs, Legdes or anything else on any of those points I should try? Think Ill definitly give it a try.. Maybe Ill see ya out there..KEEP EM BENT! PHISHuntR

That is a canoe, its all I can afford. Its a plastic canoe rigged up with a fish finder and trolling motor. I have tackle trays, I guess you can call, built in, and I'm working on a live well.
No, there is not a lot of bass fisherman at the lake, but it is definately not over-filled with bass. I have not found a definate pattern here which makes thing tough but I have a few goto lures that will usually catch fish.
About the draining, the lake has not been fully drained for a long time. Last year, the lake was drained probably about 4-6 verticle feet. The majority of the lake is about 9 feet deep with the deepest part being around 15. I really think this affected the bass and a lot of them died because of it. Last year, drop-shotting would get a bass anywhere in the lake. The bass would only be about 10" on average but now that just doesn't happen. That fish above is the first fish over 2-3 pounds in a looong time.
The shore leading to the dam with all of the reeds is great. There are a few dropoffs but it is hard to fish and find them without a depth finder.
This is a great lake that can at times test your skills. The lake right now is very clear and the bass are very finicky. All fish 2-15 and 2-16 were caught on 4lb
