#16928, "Central Cali. Guidebook out ... Naci report"
Thought it would be worth posting for the readers in the group ... There's a brand new guidebook out on "Fishing Central California: An Insiders Guide to Fishing Central California" available at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Central-California-Insiders-Guide/dp/1892469189/ref=sr_1_1/104-3331998-8598367?ie=UTF8&s=books&) for less than $20. Might make a good Father's Day or grad present.
As far as my latest report, I fished the Nacimiento River out of Camp Roberts recently -- the base located north of Paso Robles is open to fishing to civilians on the weekends -- and caught four or five trout in the 10- to 12-inch class on small spinners, Roostertails and Blue Foxes. It was a pretty productive morning. The fishing slowed in the afternoon with the heat. Might make a good morning trip for some though, making sure to visit the two lakes, Nacimiento and San Antonio. Nacimiento is known for its spots and whites, while San Antonio is a good getaway for stripers.
