#12228, "DVL Question"

In a conversation with a friend today, we were talking about DVL and he was telling me I should really try it out. But he also said it was like prison fishing. I asked why and he said that they have people watching you from all over the lake. Is it really true you can't smoke or chew tobacoo on the lake? I mean that is insane. I also heard some guys got DQed from a tourney because the DVL Big Brother saw one of them take a leak over the side and another smoking in his boat. I'm just curious before I spend the dough to head out there, is it really that strange out there? Curious to hear from some others who have been out there.

Hey Brian,

That's the same thing that i heard. Don't know if it's speculation or if it's a fact. But like you, i haven't been in a rush to check out DVL with all of their imposed restrictions. Is your motor compliant? I thought it was an EFI?

I don't know either Jeff, only what I heard, which is why I was asking before take the opportunity to roll out there with a friend who does have a compliant motor, only to get thrown off the lake for spitting in it. As for the motor, nope, same as yours bro and it'll probably stay that way too. We need to hook up in the coming weeks when the fish sex starts.

BMC, we could actually go in my boat. I have a Optimax. If the verdict is in that you can actually spit your snuff remnants in the lake, we'll go in my boat! As for my cigarette butts, i always like to place them in my pepsi bottle anyways...now pissing is another story!

I fish the lake two to five days a week. I have not been hassled but I don’t smoke. It is a no smoking lake, smoking is only allowed in a designated area in the parking lot. My fishing partner, while in the parking lot, was asked to put out a cigarette. The MWD is extremely environmental conscious regarding their lake. A fellow angler told me he received a ticket for exceeding 25 MPH on the lake. How about this one, all vehicles must be off the property before dark so the nocturnal kangaroo rats will not be run over.

Henry
