Who here has fished the Santa Ynez River lately or before ? Hows it for trout,pan fish, and smallies ? What do you think the fishing would be like now and where are some places i can get away from the crowds,like hike further downstream.

Right now the fising in the river is terrible. I fished every hole of water in the river last Friday and Saturday with three of my friends and all we caught was a few small sunfish and one decent bass. Most of the holes had nothing in them. We hiked and fished all the way to the dam where there was a few nice deep holes but again little action. This is typical though, i have fished the river since i was a child and it always sucks this time of year, we have to wait for spring to come and the trout plants.
