Hey i live costa mesa and fish all the local lakes around here. I keep hearing how good Mission Viejo is and i was wondering how you can fish it if u dont live around there. I heard it was private, is that true? If anyone can give me some info that would be nice

Thanx Socalangler

Yes, you do need to be a member. Fishing can be outstanding there for big or small fish, day or night.

so to be a member you have to live there? Can you just buy a permit or a visiting pass?
thanks

Grom85 is correct.

Mission Viejo Lake is a private lake only open to members. To become a member, you must either buy a house in Mission Viejo and transfer the previous owner's membership to yourself (if the previous owners were members), or buy a house in Mission Viejo and start a new membership. Membership is permanent.

You may fish at the lake as a guest of a member. Cost is $8.00/day last time I checked.

Can you launch a boat in LMV?

Do they have a ramp? My Bro-in law owns a house on the lake, but I've yet to ask him about the details of the lake (Dumb Me!)

Please advise!

Thanks!

Float tubes are not allowed at LMV. Fishing is only allowed from designated fishing areas and by boat.

ahhh, LMV and south Orange County surf- Lowers was doing it this afternoon, with 75 of your best friends splitting the peak- I chose the DP option, gave the bass a rest, and got some fun ones at Drainpipes- head high wedgers are a great cure for finicky bass! Grom, hope your knee heals quickly, I had an ACL rebuilt from scratch back in the day, it still works- You'll be back in the water soon
