Spent all last night ( 10pm- 4am), tubin at the Castaic Lagoon, of course. Started out right in front of my launching spot. I decided to drag my worm all the way across the lake to the pinacles where I got a lunker a few weeks earlier. I was fishing my worm a lot faster than normal on the way to the grounds. I was very surprised to get bit close to the middle of the lake.I set the hook half ass and farmed it. I was using a 9" bonzai worm in electric blue so I should have let him eat it! I fished in the middle of the lake for awhile but was to paranoid of being seen(you cant tube at night). So I hauled ass to the pinnacles. After getting there I got hung up twice, losing my bait-an owner hook,brass n glass, and a big worm aint cheap! A good 2 hours in the area produced nothing. I slid back towards one of my favorite spots and got hammered on the sink by a 12" bass, Looked funny with that HUGE worm. An hour in this area produced nothing else-too much weed. And all that weed made me want to smoke some on the way to my next spot-one I havent fished in a long time. However, a funny thing happend on the way. I noticed some sort of structure out in deep water, apparently used by the CSUN waterski team. It looked damn good.Oh no I divulged a spot , what am I going to do?haha. Anyways. I made a cast and slowly kicked around shaking shaking shaking my worm.BAM. I get bit right where I should. Fought like a muther and turned ot to be a nice fat 4 .The healthiest fish I've seen since the heyday of Castaic (late 80's-92). I made another cast and got a nice two pounder.Oh yeah, both were on 9" motor oil power worms. Alot more time here produced nothing. I decided to make the long kick to my all time most productive spot and where a "buddy" got a 13-14 and a 14 this year.He killed th 13-14 that basterd. I get there and throw my worm right on a certain pieve of what I guess you could calll structure. 1 shake and I get that resistance /tug feel. I rip his lips off and here we go! It's abot oh 2am. Another big fish , staying deep and pullin drag. He is BIG. I'm on for about 2 minutes. Then it turns the corner and frays my line on the structure I'm fishing. #####. Gone. After the fray a short run braeks my line-12 pound maxima. Never even saw it. Nice fish though. The next hour and a half produces nothing. Im exhausted and Ive seriously lost feeling in my legs and feet time to go home.<P>Hey Rob, if you read this: I will call you once I hear back from Randle regarding some charter info.
