I fished the american river at paradise beach (log hole) friday afternoon and saturday morning for a few hours. There's shad in the river, but not in big numbers quite yet. I got a total of a half dozen fish and missed some. Another week or two and it should bust open.

If anyone hasn't tried fishing for these, you're missing out! They pack an addicting fight and 100+ fish days can happen in late may/early june.
