Well, if anyone cares, I've been fishing castaic with almost no sucess lately, except for trout when I get bored of fishing bass. The trout fisings been darn good lately with heavy DFG plants. The night bite has been non-existent in my last 5 or 6 fish trips. I'm embarrassed to say it but I haven't even had a bite. But thats how castaic is!
I thought the toads might be on a strictly trout diet so I fished the mornings before work and school all week. Nothing on AC plugs, swimbaits, or the old worm king dinosaurs. Very discouraging. My next trip will be to take advantage of the calico bass bite at Catalina. Half to full limits have been the rule for almost a month now for the Pursuit out of 22nd st.

Brandon,
Hey I know it seems a lot of times like no one gives a rip but I know that every day 30 people visit the site and they must be looking at something. I have total confidence you'll get back on them at Castaic. Probably get another 12 pounder knowing you!
Good luck at Catalina, let me know how it goes. Do they have squid down that way?
Rob

Hey Rob,
Yeah, I havent been to the islands in months, actually not since late spring, but I talked to the 2nd ticket on one of the boats I ride on and he said its all the squid you want on the backside. No seabass though, they normally dont bite until about a month before the spawn in march/april. A few yellows around the isthmus and salta verda for the skiffs though--definatly worth keeping an eye on for the LA/Orange county residents
