Well I wish these damn winds would lay down, killing the light line presentations. Seems the linesides have shut off, have only scratched 3 in the last 3 days in these gale force winds. On the bright side, out on the west side, scored on the kitty fish. None bigger than 8 pounds but sheer numbers. They are on livers and clams. With the winds, the current has been rippin, making spot selection critical, stay outta the passes unless you have 5oz. or better lead. Well fish hard and fish often, gonna fry my up a couple fillets and have a cold one.

Hey Pounder,
I live over here in Bakersfield. I've fished the duct a few times with very minimal success. Where do you usually find the best fishing? Right below the control gates? In the curves? Out in the middle? Closer to the sides? You know what I meen? I'm a 99% bass kinda guy now. But I would like to try something new now and then. Plus, bass fishing is a little slow at the closer spots now.

Isn't it amazing how well beer and whiskey go with fried catfish, hehehe. Congrats on the kitties. We gotta hook up some time and really put a whoopin on the fishees.

hey, an 8 pound cat's nothing to be ashamed of, sounds like you did fairly well. What part of the duct are you fishing? I haven't had much luck in it lately. I'm fishing the los banos and santa nella area. Anyone got any hot spots and or tips in that area for big cats or stripers? I'd appreciate any help.
