My father and I fished the upper on Monday. Very few shad as the weeks prior. We were able to net a few for fun. No action on the shad or anything else. Tried everything in the book and hit all my best spots. Not one fish all day. Saw a couple of guys fishing shad in one of my spots. They fished it for about an hour and a half. They only caught one. You know things are tough when you cant get bit on shad.
Dont believe everything you read in the WON paper. I spoke to a friend who fished the upper on Sunday. No fish for him either.
Ill be hitting the upper next week. Stay tuned for the latest report.

That is real tough when you don't get touched with live shad. I remember reading about a decent striper(topwater) bite going on at the upper lake but when we fished it, all the stripers were feeding on micro shad fry or something real small. The stripers were on top alright but not biting anything, we just followed them around the lake and tried everything we could think of, no action at all.

Thanks for the reports, hope things are more in your favor next trip, good luck.
