#17851, "Delta Elite tourney inspection"

Read where DFG inpsected the Elite guy's boats using dogs to sniff out any invasive mussels prior to the Delta tourney.

Does anyone know if FWL did an inspection for the National Guard tourney on the Delta.

I don't believe they did anything for the NG. I also think they did it as more of a publicity stunt for the BASS guys anyways. On another note the BASS guys are national the NG are regional. I heard more people complain about our CA speed limits, with next to none about the inspections

Not sure if BASS asked DFG to do the inspections. Strange that they would not inspect the FLW guy's even with most of them being from CAL. FLW did not have as many outa state guy's like BASS but they did have guys from Oklahoma / Idaho / Nevada / Arizona and Washington state.

DFG needs to enforce the inspections on ALL out of state boats entering the state across the board.

Its my understanding they do a halfazz boat check at the CA state line. Also when I said a publicity stunt I was more referring to the City of Stockton or DFG putting it on, not BASS. I can see Stockton officials putting this on to tell the rest of the nation "check us out we have mussel sniffing dogs" You know the city with about the highest crime rate in the country. Hell they probably had to train there drug sniffing dogs to smell for mussels as they were getting confused since there is dope every 100ft you go in Stockton.

Yea - I thought the same thing about boats entering from outa state. Having some type of inspection at main entries to the state would help prevent intrusion.

Lake - your right on about the dogs. City of Stockton wanted to show how pro-active they are in preventing mussels. Maybe their using the same dogs that were trained to sniff out mussels, sniff out drugs as well. You know how every city is trying to save money right. That explains why Stockton has such a large drug problem. :+
