#2169, "Guess the presentation..."

...that got my longest (22.5") LM bass ever, Thanksgiving night. I got it at around 1:45AM. It would have been my heaviest bass too, except it was winter slim and consequently only weighed 5.25#. I caught it 1/4-1/2 mile N. of the old Marina launch ramp at Anderson Res.
Good luck guessing!

Tight lines,
Wade

as long as it wasn't speargun or throw net, it's all good! Way to go on a nice fish. :)

Nice fish Wade. Must have been real skinny. I caught a 23" LM in the delta a couple of weeks ago that went 6.5lbs and that fish looked anorexic(sp). It had the head of a 10lber and the body of a 4lber. Anyway, How did you get him?

Tight Lines,

Here fishy, fishy, fishy......

I caught it on a whole Anchovie. I was actually fishing for big catfish, using a circle hook and no weight on my 30# rig. I'd had 1 half hearted hit within 20 min. of when I got there at 9:30pm and that was it. I was packing up my stuff to leave figuring this night was going to be scratch, when my rod tip bends 1.5', comes back 6" and dips another foot.
"YEE-HAW! this is gonna be another 15#+ cat", I thought to myself. Well when I reeled down and came taught I was a little disappointed that it didn't pull back much, but something else didn't seem quite right. Just before it came to the surface the only cloud of the night blocked out most of what little light there was so I didn't know what it was until it was actually on the bank. Although I wanted a catfish for breakfast, I was more than happy with C&Ring this bass.
BTW my buddy says it was 21.5" not 22.5". Oh well, it's still my longest bass. Also It's not my only strange catch on Anchovies, I got a 2.5# Rainbow trout on one out of the Colorado R. near Needles 2 years ago, also at night.

Tight lines,
Wade
