#240, "Bass Poachers!!"

Went up to the lake today. Tubed the whole beach side for nothing. However, I hoped the fence onto the boat dock and counted nine bass from approximately 6-9 pounds. They were all over cruising upper water column. Unfortunatly, a mexican family was trying to snag them. After I threatened the father they left. After talking to other anglers they said they saw the same thing last week. That time a guy got a 6 and a nine pounder. He snagged his with a big kastmaster with a huge treblehooke. I called <BR>DFG but it was too late. Anyone at any lake should keep an eye out for poachers this time of year. I have seen this go on for years in April at Castaic and it makes me sick!! Typically they snag fish with treble hooks. Also they will take the first fish they snag and put it on a long rope and throw it out in the spawning area. After a minute they will slowly drag the fish back in and the other fish will follow it - then a buddy snags the confused bass. I saw tons of nice fish poached like this a couple years back. 1-888-dfg-caltip to reports these pieces of shi t!!!!
