OK WE KNOW HOW TO CATCH THE STRIPERS IN EARLY MORNING BUT DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY INFO ON HOW DEEP THE STRIPERS ARE AFTER THE SUN COMES UP AND THEY STOP BOILING , HOW DEEP DO I NEED TO FISH TO CATCH MID DAY STRIPERS AT CASTAIC USING SPOONS OR TROLLING TROUT LURES ?

I don't have a positive answer to your question, but I'll tell you what I'm gonna' try.
Motor around & see if you can find a school of shad & go at it with a spoon.
The way I've caught em' is by dropping it down thru the bait fish & then a fast retrieve- then free spool & let it flutter down.

what pound test are you using with the spoons and what weight spoon?

1/2 to 1 oz. spoons & 10 to 15lb line is fine.
Most always there is no structure around & I use 10lb. always in open water.
Heck, I've landed 100lb. sailfish on 20lb. Naturally in open water & in a panga.
You MUST tie good knots with good line.
