This may sound totally stupid, but HOW DOES ONE GET TO LAKE LOS CANEROS - i've lived in S.B> for years and didn't even know there was a lake there - let alone fishing.

Jones,

I'm going to trust that you (and anyone else reading this) will release everything you catch there. Not only because it's a small un-stocked body of water and it's the right thing to do but also because it would be really gross to eat anything you catch there. It is mainly fed by run-off from the neighborhoods to the north of it.

It's situated between Fairview and Los Carneros Road just north of the Freeway in Goleta. The main access road is on La Patera. From the north take 101 to Los Carneros, go north to Calle Real, turn right, turn left on La Patera, it will be on your left. From the south take 101 to Fairview, go north to Calle Real, turn left, turn right on La Patera, again it will be on your left.

I've been fishing there since the early 80's and the fish still have me beat. It's an on and off lake and can be really frustrating at times.

Pete

You can't catch tomorrow what you kill today - please practice catch and release.
