Went with in the boston whailer today. Arrived around 7am. Very light crowd. Launched and hit my favorite spot. Right away hook ups! 2 in 10 minutes, and farmed 2. Then nothing. Went to Sierra Cove. Doc had a hookup after a half hour. I had a bite, but farmed again! Went to West shore, but had angry fisherman throwing their line past the bouy line. Went to cliffs, nothing. Went back to favorite spot and had instant hookups again! One fish was a 1.11 bass! Fought the large mouth on 2lb line, what a rush! Final count was 5 fish, farmed 4 trout, and 1 1.11 bass (released). The new line was the key, as the other 3 people in the boat had some difficulty hooking up. Bangin Bob was back in action today, and will hit sarl for night fishing looking for the lloyd, or many rats!
Bangin Bob: Bang with a RAT name for fish.
Note: The vine did not stock this week, and the lagoon is more like a mud puddle. It would be hard to believe they stocked 2000 lbs in the half drained channel of water. Water it too low.

Hey Bob, I think I remember seeing you out there. I was in my tracker ( there were 4 of them that day though) mine is the red one with the 25 evinrude. We did good in the afternoon near the motorcyle track on bass and got some good trout on leadcore (4 colors down). I got one really nice hooked jaw fish around 4lbs on an Apex, man did that fish fight good for an Irvine fish. Dude you have got to go to San Vincente for those trout down there. They are much closer to a Steelhead than those fish in Irvine. I have had fish at San V on 6-8 colors of leadcore pulling line off the reel and jumping with all that lead out !!!!. Take it easy and hope to see you out there one day.

Muskyman,
I did see a ranger bass boat in the area of the boat ramp when I was driving in around 7:15am. The bite was good, but my heaviest was only 1.25lb's. Did you win the jackpot for the day? I will be fishing the vine next week, and SARL probably thursday night looking for the lloyd.

See ya out there!

Hey Bangin Bob,

Nice to hear your still slayin 'em. I used to always look forward to reading your posts on the old hotpage board. Glad to see your still posting though. I think I actually saw you at the Sport Chalet tournie up at Irvine. I think you where with your family and you won a raffle prize. I was the scruffy looking Filipino guy on the stairs. The great news Irvine is throwing another awesome tournie on the 13th of this month. Just check out there site, all the info's there. I was going to fish the Corona one instead, but you just can't beat Irvine's tournie fee which is just the gate fee. Well, maybe we'll bump into each other there.

Thanks for reading the reports,
It's always nice to know someone reads these postings. The Vine tourney was fun, and the SARL one prior was a blast. I took 1st at the sarl, and for the vine, if I had weighed in earlier, my fish would have been 2.5lbs. My total stringer for that day was over 10lbs, all steelheads. I will be at the 13th tourney at the vine float tubing. It should be interesting, and alot of competitors. I'll be fishing SARL thursday, and vine next week in preparation for the tourney.

tight lines!
