...I caught that 7, I think it's the same one anyways. This one actually seemed heavier and was by far the best fight thus far. It took line. No big deal you say? Well I was using 30# Fireline w/ the drag on my Curado hammered as far as I could get it. I was throwing this black and chart. jig w/ black pig and the wierd rattles that slide onto the hook. They kinda look like outriggers, but they flop around. Had two other fish, one was maybe 11" the other was probably 8". Got those w/ Ole Faithful, junebug Robo zipper. Missed a couple other bites, but for the most part a slow night for 3hrs fishing.

This wierd hairy moss or something has sprung up since last week. I noticed it last night, but thought it was just murky water. It seemed thicker tonight and is a big pain in the arse to deal with. The other pond doesn't seem to have it. Anybody know what this stuff is? Is it normal?

If you are catching the same fish, you would see holes and soars all over its mouth, this is the 3rd time I would say it should look pretty ugly aroung the mouth by now.How does it look? You also could tag it.

Would 7 or so days be enough time for any damage to be noticeable? I have thought about tagging it somehow. Thought about clipping a very small corner off the tail. Do you think this would cause it anything more than some discomfort?

Any idea what this slimy fur is? It's quite a pain, I have to shake the bait after every cast. I'm sure this is how my good jig lost it's rattle. You can't pull it off by hand either, it just slides through my fingers.

Thanks for the input,
Amish Ed

Ed,
I know the bass in my aquarium healed in a week or two, but that's under ideal conditions, I'm sure you'd still be able to see some marks in it's mouth. What's this, time number 3? There's gotta be somethin there. If possible, maybe you could clip the spine off the first dorsal spine or something, that way it won't affect her swimming in anyway at all. Bring a pair of dikes, just like a sculpin :-)
