A few friends and I will be hitting Santa Ana for some catfish. Can anyone give me an up date on the cat fishing. Any good recommendations on what bait to throw?

I was there for the Cat opener. They bit good from opening till about 8:30 am . We were in a boat at the bubblehole using mackeral . We got 9 Cats between the two of us , up to about 7 pounds . Just don't drop the full stringer in the water like I did .
