#14103, "La Jolla fishing (San Diego)"

Hey guys,

Im new to this hobby. Im a beach lover though. I surf, snorkel, and kayak, so im pretty familiar with the wildlife. Now im getting interested in actually catching the fish i see.....

Im mainly looking for how to target bass and opaleye. Great fish that are pretty good to eat and common around La Jolla. Now i know opaleye got a sweet spot for peas, but what kind of rod/ree/line should i use?

Bass i have heard are alot like there freshwater cousins in ways i have heard. They love to hit artificial lures. Thats good for me because i got a big tackle box loaded with everything you can think of!

So if you guys have any advice or tips for me it would be most appreciated!
