my dad and i are planning to go down to san diego to go ocean fishing on a charter boat...just would like to know how fishing is...

The calicos have been best in the afternoon. Everythingin the am have been lings and reds. I went out last Saturday on a half day boat in the pm. I fish plastic I must had 25 to 30 calicos in 3 hours did not keep a one. I also hook a 15lb white sea bass, I did keep that one. My big calico was a but 6 1/2 lb. If going out 3/4 day boat sand bass are hot. But if going out a over nighter or longer yellows are hotter that the tuna. Good luck
