That’s right I said corbina on the grub! I got down to hollywood beach at 8:00am on the peak of the low tide, but I liked what I saw, the waves were breaking outside and washing over a sand bar and into a big trough that extended all the way down the beach, I had been fishing the grub in this trough casting kinda down hill and working it up for a half an hour when my grub gets stopped, and when I set the hook this thing takes off!, Im thinking the whole time halibut, but when I work this thing into the shallows I find that a huge corbina has actually ate my grub! :-) Before I release him I measure him against my rod and later find that he went 22inches! Woohoo! and to think I had given up on my quest for corbina till summer, anyways it was a quality not quantity day on the perch, I fished till 11:15 for 11 perch with 5 of them going 10-12inches and the rest were around 8inches all fish were caught on a 2in motoroil grub with red flake fished on a 4lb main line with a 6lb flouro leader also I put procure on my grubs…Larry

I fished Hueneme Beach tha same day. I was surprised to see a corbina working the shallow water. Looks like they hang around in Winter.

Larry, you are a plastics master!
