Fished NP on Wednesday Jan, 30. Only had a few hours to fish, so I decided to troll all the channels that I could cover. final count was 2 calicos, 4 croakers, 1 cudda , and 2 halibut. Used the "Fat Free Shad" in the 1/4 oz size. Weather was beautiful and the water was a nice green.

Did you really troll or were you flippin' as you moved along? What kind of boat/kayak and what's a "fat free shad"?

I always troll a small rapala when I'm motoring out of the Harbor from the Dunes. Believe it or not I've caught a few really good sized Halibut on my way out and an assortment of other fish as well.

Thanks for the report. It's always nice to hear a report from the home turf!! :D

It's made by Excalibur an ordinary largemouth crank bait. I have a small 16 foot bass boat, know of any spots I can fish? Are those boilers just outside the mouth any good? Then ones at corona del mar?
