When: Wed. 5/19 @10:00a.m. Where: Dana Point What: Calico/Sanbass fishing Bait: Dino's and plastic Tackle: 7'8" G USA hvy. act. rod and Calcutta 400 Line: 15lb. Pline
Hit the kelp stringers at the point. Caught a Cali on the first fly-lined dino. This spot produced for the entire boat. The Captain then headed south towards San Clemente. This is where we ran into cudas. For the next hour it was a mix on bass and cudas. The bite was WFO for mostly everybody on the boat. All my bass were calico all caught on dino's and some on swimbaits. The jackpot was a 30 inch WSB. taken off the bottom on a rootbeer twintail grub. Also the Bonies made a brief showing. Limits for everyone and a lot of catch and release. I kept five for the table and threw back my biggest. Overall it was excellent with a good friendly crew.
