Hey guys, just want to invite you all to a salt water tournament next week. Jan. 7th is the date, and it's being held in Long Beach. For more info check out Floattuber.com. I've fished them last year and they are really fun. A whole range of abilities show up for these and there is lots of info to be changed. This year it's $200 for 1rst. Hope some of you can make it.

Thanks again Rob,
Amish Ed

Go to Floattuber.com, there should be a link for registering. If you can't find it there, go to the message board and post. Ask for Sir Dink in the subject, he owns Floattuber.com and runs the tournaments. Worse comes to worse, follow the directions in Moody's post, and just show up at 5:30am. All are welcome, even those who just want to fish for fun can pay $5 and join the BBQ after too. If you have any other questions I'd be glad to answer whatever I can.

Hope to see you there,
Amish Ed

You all missed it and I missed you too. I actually got big fish (an 3lb9oz sandy) and 1rst overall. Brought home $160 and a $50 gift cert. to Ricks Tackle. Overall we had a great time, and for those of us that went around to the backside of Grisolm Island we had a fun bite. Not a whole lot of legals, but lots of action. Hope some of you join us sometime.

Thanks guys. It's funny because I spent the last 2 weeks collecting small baits. Everything from 1" tube baits, 1.5" grubs, to these tiny little Powerpulse Worms. Must of spent $100 completely reworking my boxes. I hate fishing small stuff, I mean in Newport 4" is small for me. But, in Long Beach everyone uses the tiny stuff and considering how bad I did the three times I fished it before, figured I better follow suit. So, what happens today? All shorts on the small stuff. Switch to the biggest stuff in my boxes, 3 1/2" paddletail zippers and 4" goby's and I'm getting hit left and right. Bag only totaled 5lb5oz, but that was 2lbs more than second if my memory serves correct.

I will definitely keep everyone posted. They are fun tournaments, and as more people come the bigger the prizes and cash will get. Always meet new people and learn new techniques. I look forward to fishing at least one of the freshwaters up north also so I can meet some of our northern brethren. Rob, let me know which ones you'll be hitting so we can "hook up". The next Salt one is in Mission Bay next month I think. More as info becomes complete.

It is looking like that I will fish the Berryessa tournament and possibly the Margarita tourney. Berryessa should be the killer tournament because bass-n-tubes, sonoma county bellyboat bass club, and the floattuber.com guys will all be there. Should be a big event. On the other hand berryessa is a long way from LA.

Margarita in September I will probably fish just because it's Margarita, but September can be the hottest time of the year at Margarita and the toughest fishing. It probably would not be a good tournament just to go fish for the fun of it since it's likely to be 90-100 degrees and the bite will only be early early AM.

Some things to think about. It would be cool to met up sometime.

Ed,
Don't forget about MY tournaments... I know, we've only done one so far, but I think it worked out alright, and I think starting in the spring we'll try to do a monthly deal. That is if maybe leapin bass and a couple other guys are willing to help out in the planning and stuff as I've got enough to worry about already... First one will probably be in April or May, we'll see.

I'll hit at least one, good to put faces to names. Plus, I still want to fish SB and that might be the only way I get up there. I found out yesterday that I go back to school on the 16th. That bites, I thought I had atleast 2 more weeks, maybe 3. I still might be able to get up there soon to hit the trailer park or something. I'll let you know.
