Must be some good fishing going on down SB way...havn't seen a report in a long while?

I can say there are Hali's being caught inside Port San Luis, had a buddy take me out last Sat. morning. We stayed close, just outside the breakwater. Had a slow day, except for the 8-9 lb Ling I got. Lots of reports of Hali's though, saw a few legals at the cleaning station after we were done for the day...

To fish is to live!

Just returned from my annual family trip down to SB area and got in a couple hours a day on my yak. It wasn't a hot bite with tons of shorts, but a few good ones, one pushing 19lbs. I didn't let myself throw anything smaller than 5" BH's , pacific chovy and bleeding mac, on 20lb outfit and glad I had it for the big dog. Also mixed it up and got a few legals on megabait-fastrac type minnow plug, and even a few shorts and one just legal on spinnger baits. A buddy of mine hit some other rando spots north of SB in his yak and also got a few halis on swimbaits and one WSB just under. I couldn't find any calicos(but I never could!), but had a maybe legal WSB hammer my spinnerbait 5 ft from the yak, not get hooked somehow and broke the blades off it hit so hard! Can't attach photo...too big?

Fish R Die!
