#5269, "Sand Crab Trap"

Would anyone in the North San Diego County area, preferably the Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista area have a crab trap they would like to sell?

I could make one but it seems like I can never

find the time. I have seen them in bait shops recently but they look really cheap.

Thanks,

Aztecwin

I'll tell you what works great and is a lot easier to carry. It's a 24-30 inch baittank net. Just look for a patch of crab 'V' in the receeding water and scoop away. The fine mesh strains them out pretty good. The brand we use is a 'Loki', it has an aluminum handle and soft white mesh. About $10-13 depending where you get it and handle length.

Thanks a million! Any idea where I can pick one up in this area? Would a boat supply center carry them? Any names would be greatly appreciated.

Again, Thanks,

Aztecwin.

try any tackle store--maybe Boss Tackle? there's 2 down your way I think--kearny mesa and also vista. west marine has another brand net for similar price. There are many other boat supply places in SD. BTW, 24-30 inches is the handle length, not net size. net is only about 7 x 9 inches, scoops plenty of crabs though. I just hang mine on my fanny pack or slip between waist of pants and belt so I'm mobile.

Fongster, Good News!

I went down to Boss Tackle in Vista and picked up a bait net with a 30 " handle and a rectangular scoop base of 15".

I'm sure this will be the ticket. It was in the price range that you had mentioned. $16+tax. The company that manufactures it is Ranger from the Midwest. Aluminum with real fine white mesh. I believe that it will do the trick!

Thanks Buddy!

Aztecwin out.
