#574, "What's up with local fish counts?"

Has anybody else noticed that the local fish counts (Santa Barbara/Ventura County) for sandies and calicos have been way down the last couple of weeks? Has the water cooled off? I noticed that the landings in L.A. and O.C. are doing very well on the bass!

angler dude,
I haven't been on the boat for a while (cause the seabass have been so good from the float tube...) but apparently they're having pretty rough conditions. I guess the wind is pretty gnarly which will drive the bass either off the kelp and down deep, or way back into the kelp, or just make em lock jawed. The water did cool down like last week but it's starting to heat up again and if the wind dies off, the bass bite should pick up again by next week.
