I'll be at the north end of South Carslbad St. Beach Sat. morning w/ my friend Steve if anybody wants to meet up. We'll be starting around 6:30am. 7' high at around 7ish, so we should find a few willing fish. I hope.

I'm fishing Orange County, but post a report when you get back. Like to see what's going on down there too. Surfan

Steve had to cancel, but my brother joined me. It was a slow pick all morning. We both finished w/ 5-6 each. My bro's were all in the 8 - 10", I had a couple in that range and some smaller ones. He had a blast, as these were the biggest he's ever caught.
Did see some crabs around, but only at the highest part of the tide. Water seemed around 61 or 62ยบ, kinda dirty ( I think it's from the dredging in O-side), swell was moderate. Wind was off and on strong offshore. Amish Ed You Can't Catch it again if it's Dead!

AmishEd, Thanks for reporting. It was a little slow up here too. Sounds like your brother is hooked on surf fishing. This season, I'm still looking for a wide open bite on the larger perch. Should be here soon. Surfan

Rudy, good to see you came out of the closet. I will let you know next time, though it'll be a few weeks at least. Call Steve or I, we got a couple fun trips lined up.
Surfan, yeah my brother is liking the perching. On two previous trips we got skunked once, and had micro perch the other time. So, this was a treat for him and thus me too. I can't wait to get him out on a yak.

I would prefer to say that I was in the shadows, NOT the closet.:-) There's no closet!
