I just received my first of these baits. I got two, 5 inchers, one in 'white' and one in 'baitfish'.
I thought I would try Carolina-rigging the white one but I d/k if they will pick it up off of the bottom? Have any of you done this? Were your pick-ups/strikes when the bait was falling, being lifted, or on the bottom--dead-sticking?
Any other hints or tips would be very welcome too.
Dan-congrats on the purchase of your mission fish!!!!I cant tell you how to use the bait, but I can tell you its purpose! the bait was desinged to be fished like a worm or like a jig! slow is the key!!Mission fish is the only true weedless swimbait on the earth! It has a serious history of Monster bass!I never try catchin fish with it by swimmin it around.I recomend you go to the areas that you normally fish a worm or jig and fish it with the same stle!!!Dont forget the potental of flippin it also!!! Fish Hard & Go Big!!!

I have one of the SR7W weedless baits and have seen them in the review boards, this one doesnt have as much weight in the nose and swims excellent, I do not think you can jig this one like the mission fish. There are actually more than just one weedless swimbait on the market.

For non-traditional methods of fishing the Mission Fish I have done very well vertical jigging them for bass and stripers in the Delta. Early morning seems to be key for this. They really slam it too!

Thanks y'all for the replys and suggestions. I'm going to remove the white one from my C-rig as it's not designed to be fished that way. I'll certainly try pitchin' them and I've got many 'targets of opportunity' in the swamp pond I usually fish in.
