#5122, "Castaic Lagoon Night fishing?"

Im going to be heading out to castaic late tonight for some night fishing at the lagoon, and then probably launching at the upper lake once the sun comes up.

How much of the shoreline is open/accessible on the lower lake at night? Any tips on where to go on the lake, I'll probably be throwing nothing but the slammer.

Also, any reports or recommendations for the upper lake once the sun comes up?

any help is appreciated,

nate

Basically half of the lower (lagoon) is available for shore fishing, day or night. The side you park on is open to fishing, the opposite side, the actual city park is closed.I think there are signs along the shore that map out the open and closed areas pretty well. I would say the best areas to concentrate on are the launch ramp and spillway/road. It is pretty limited as far as shore fishing goes and you can cover all the water you possibly can real fast. I would recommend making every cast count and to use a very slooooww retrieve.JMO I have seen a couple nice bass caught right off the rocky, spillway spot. It drops off pretty good right there.

I haven't been there for along time now but if it's anything like most lakes right now it might have allot of weeds and crap growing like crazy, making shore fishing even tougher.Just something to think about.

Good luck. Trever
