Went to SC Main lake to see of any fish big fish were moving up yet.
Saturday: I started at 6:30 with a Slammer, swimbaits and a jig. I flipped an 8-2 from the only piece of bamboo on the whole lake with the jig. That turned out to be my only bite of the day, I did have some followers with a swimbait. As I was leaving around noon, I noticed more Bass moving up as the water warmed.
Sunday: I got on the water at 10:30 and started out throwing a Swimbait and dragging a jig. mostly I was looking for big cruisers. about halfway down the Stanley Blvd. shore line I spooked a big fish sitting in the top of a submerged tree. I continued on without seeing to many fish and finally picked up 1 small fish on a 6" worm on a dart head. As I made my way back to the tree where I spotted the big fish I tied on a Slammer hoping she was still there. Figuring I had only 1 good chance at this fish I positioned my boat so I could cast far beyond the tree and the splash wouldn't spook her. I made the toss and as I'm bringing the Slammer over the tree it bumped a branch. I popped it a little and thought I saw something move in the water(I was still 30-40 feet away from the tree). It bumped another branch and I popped it loose once more. then as I started the retrieve again a big fish unloaded on it. She made 1 jump and headed deep. When I saw the fish come out of the water I almost $#!t, it was huge! after what seemed like a very long time(maybe 2 or 3 minutes) I got her in the net(almost didn't fit). She tipped the scale to 11-lb 12-oz. What a pig, and my new personal best.
Unfortunatly I left my camera on the table as I was leaving so no pics of the 11-12, but here's some of the 8-2.
