Dani and I are heading out Sunday. maybe Calero, maybe Shadow Cliffs, maybe Pinto, maybe? We're going out just not sure where. Anyone out recently and have a good day somewhere in the south bay/bay area? I just drove back from Tahoe (caught a rainbow yesterday, nothing big but definately beautiful) and don't feel like driving too far from Santa Cruz but would sure like to rip a lip!

Dani and I decided to try Calero. Since he is in a tube/kickboat hybrid without oars we will be launching from the ramp area sometime between 7:30 and 8am.

Clint,
I fished Calero yesterday from my boat. Before 1pm the bite was great, after that it was very slow. We caught 8 fish up to a little over 3lbs. Try shaking worms in 5'-15' of water and you should catch a few. Water has really good visibility for this time of year, dropshotting might be good later in the day when the bite slows(??) I shouldve tried it.

Thank for the tips Paul! I thought I might try spooning a bit and popping jigs off the bottom. I'll post a report tomorrow afternoon/evening. I've been on vacation and this is my last day out before I go back to work. I'm looking forward to a sweet day out on the water!

Not sure what happened to the report I posted. Maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to get filed before exiting or something.
Anyway, Dani and I blanked last Sunday. It was cold and overcast. I got two strikes on a tailspinner and Dani got hit once on a spoon but no hookups. Dani's pontoon started leaking around noon so we bailed out.
