#14019, "BASS Day 1 on the Delta"

Well, the bite apparently wasn't awesome for our two guys at the Delta, but at least they're in the top half after Day 1. Good luck to Eric & Pat tomorrow!

I know Eric was fishing Disco with Jarred Edwards (who is in the top 10). Jarred scored a 9+ on 6lb test according to Eric. Sounds like he's fishing with a more power fisherman today. Hopefully he'll catch a fat limit of fish!

Good luck out there Eric and Pat!

Todd

Your linked page had a side-panel story of an amateur who fell into the water at weigh-in, losing 2 fish that might've weighed 6-8 lbs. That's sure a bummer, although I can certainly relate! :+

Too bad we can't get more of that kind of coverage at these tournaments. Obviously, there's so much more going on at these events than what you'll ever know from reading the reports!

Looking forward to seeing some of the boys up there on Saturday. Do any of you know what the field gets cut down to on Sat.? Isn't it something like 50 or 60? I suppose that means I won't be seeing some of the big-name guys I was hoping to see (like maybe Denny Brauer, who's sitting at *87th* after Day 1).

Sat field is cut to 12
Sun field is cut to 6

From what I read on NCBF the Pro's were easy to find from a boat on day one as there are 97 boats + cameras + spectators. I have a feeling Sat and Sun might be a bit difficult to find them, but I'll be out there.

If anyone else is planning on spectating and fishing from a boat Sat/Sun, feel free to call my cell phone at 408-203-8000. I'll be out there both days trying to do some prefishing for next weekend and watching the Pro's. Maybe with a few of us working together we can track down where they Pro's are at during the day. I'll have my GPS on for directions if I find any of them.

I'm also planning on being over at the weigh in around 2:30pm on Sat and Sun (weigh in is at 3:30). Good luck and tight lines.

Vince --

I'll look for you out there (although I haven't a clue what you look like!). :-) What kind of boat will you be cruising in? Do you have any idea what you'll be wearing (any kind of hat, logo, or anything else I could identify you with?). Let's see... I suppose I could choose my grey 'Owner' baseball cap, so if you see a 6-foot-2 guy with a (greying) beard buzzing around wearing one of those, take a chance & say 'hi,' it might be me!

I'm planning on leaving my boat at home, although you're making me think about how cool it would be to cruise around out there on the water. I had thought I shouldn't clutter the waterways with the big competition going on, but now that you've reminded me that the field will be drastically smaller Saturday, the notion seems that much more intriguing (although I still think I'll stay on foot for the day, just cruising the booths & such).

Hope to see you there, in any case!

I was planning on finding some new water and watching the Pro's this weekend. If you're interested, feel free to email or call me (cell phone above) and we'll go fishing. Then around 2:30p hit the weigh in and chat things up with some Pro's.

Let me know if you're interested.

BTW, I've got a red/grey Ranger r72 w/ 125 HP Mercury outboard. I'll most likely have my black Fishermans Warehouse cap on. Actually I think Cooch has a pic of me on his website from our guide trip.

3rd pic down with my name one it. Either way maybe I'll run into you at the weigh in.
