I went up to Sonoma with my dad for our annual fishing & camping trip together. The fishing was really good considering it was a holiday weekend and the crowds were out. On friday I just hung out with my dad at the campsite so I didn't fish.
Just when ya think you've got a lake figured out, it throws you a curve. In this case it worked out in my favor. I first got on my line wet late saturday morning around 8am and caught one fish 30 ft deep on a texas rigged 6" PBJ Zipper worm then another on a Rapala Risto Rap crankbait. The crankbait fish was in the west cove by the island. That was it and I stopped for lunch. I didn't expect to find any fish during the day so I was happy.
That evening I went over to where I caught the crankbait fish and found 'em chewing white tandem spinnerbaits really well. I caught 6 to 2 lbs. Not bad before the sun went down. I stuck around to wait for the night bite throwing buzzbaits, stickbaits and my pet Musky Jitterbug but never found the bite and went to bed around midnight. The next morning I got up late(oops), about 6:30 and promptly caught 5 keepers to 3 lbs all on the white blade. Then the bite shut off as about 3 other boats were all working the island.
