Ha! I like the bit about her belief that 'all bass at Spring Lake have to be released.' Is that absolutely moronic, or what?

Yeah, this one looked mighty suspicious from the start. Glad to see the agency showed some cajones! A certification would've cast doubt on the IGFA's credibility for a long time, in my estimation.

Whew!

Now let *ME* catch that sow!!!! :D

I figured it would be rejected since there was no photo showing the fish and a measuring tape and the scale. I think the IGFA needs to require more documentation. For a record like this a biologist or a fish and game person should examine the fish. The Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame really screwed up in my opinion. They gave it a 12 lb line class record but not the all tackle record. They require a necropsy on the fish for all tackle records but how can it be a 12 lb line record and no the all tackle. Either it is or isn't a record. All that said I would mine catching that fish or one half that size.

I agree. When I heard they were quoted saying they thought Spring Lake was a catch and release lake I knew it was a scam. They have fished this lake for years and definately knew better.

IFISH say's,

GOOD ! I'm glad she didn't get it recognized as it SHOULDN'T be! Anyone who fishes, or Bass fishes should know what they're doing. Catchin a record fish is no small matter these day's. I personally think that this lady should have the 12lb line class record revoked because of lack of proper evidence( How do we know someone else didn't catch it and let her take recognition or something of that fraudulant nature ! ). Further more, I think that ANY fisherman that tries to submit any fish to the IGFA,or FHF that is trying to pull a fast one( LIE about a record ), should NOT be allowed to submit ANY claim, on any " supposed " record fish for their lack of integrity. People like this are trying to cash in on the next " Record ", but want that record soo bad, they'll do anything to make it weigh out in their favor. What get's me even more, is that some of these folks don't even support Bass angling, our county park systems, and conservation, but will take the " Record " however they can get it. Just like those " Trout " fisherman that snag 12 lb Bass on Powerbait. PATHETIC and makes me sick !

Just my .02 cents.

IFISH

Thanks Andy for getting us the link.

Yes, as I did write into the gentleman quoted from IGFA and let him know many people from the Sonoma County area know these people and know them better than to let a scam like this be treated as the "real deal".

You should check out the IGFA forum and see one of the stories how Javed wrote a whole story about a 16lber (could this be the same fish????) he caught then released since he knew it would not be the record. Funny how in the story he wrote about knowing the records.

Hope Freshwater Hall of Fame revokes the record. Not that they're recognized as anything but it would help their image a bit.

Todd

Its bulls*&t. I have seen them kill fish, throw in the back of their truck and leave. I wont talk about the other things that have been witnessed between the two by a few reliable witness' that work for the County Parks department.
