For me Naci was sweet and San Antonio sucked. I prefished SA all day on friday for nothing. On day one at Naci I rowed across the lake and started throwing a crankbait and was able to pick up a couple of fish quick. I found a bank that had a decent group of fish on it and proceeded to catch them throwing a hula grub. They were either right up on the bank or just a little deeper but not deeper than 15 feet. I got a limit pretty early and culled throughout the day. I also was able to cull a couple with an Ika as well. I ended the day with 7-8.

Day two at San Antonio sucked

Congrats to Casey for winning and to paul for second. I'll let paul tell his story, how he edged me out of second, good job dude it was a nice smallie.

nah my big dog for the day was a whopping 1lb 12oz fiesty spot. We weigh in oz, not hundreths so that was prolly the confusion. My fish were all pretty close to the same weight so thats how i got the 7-8, no kicker with a bunch of squeekers just some decent spots.

Cz is one of the most honest guys you're likely to meet!Maybe he thought you guys were using our scale.If you were doing the weighing then what was his weight?

Well now that you want to try and call me out on the forum, for what reason I have no idea, but when we weighed the fish yes we ended up using your scale, but your ignorant self doesn't realize that when you press the mode button on the scale it changes from hundreths to ounces, so why dont you keep your mouth shut when you dont know what your talking about. And straight up if you got a problem with me say it to my face.

Oh and by the way what do you mean "I've done this before" I'm waiting to hear.

Don't feel bad cause we convinced you guys to have a 13inch minimum instead of the 12 you guys were planning on having and therefore weren't able to weigh in fish.

this is an open forum for constructive purposes, i used it to attack an individual that i do not even know. i apologize for that (especially to you mr. cz). i did not know we were using two different methods for weighing our fish (should not have mattered), no excuse. i spoke before thinking. i know my post caused all the negative posts. i apologize to all involved (nkft/bnt) and anyone else who read that post.this was no way any part of any member in nkft except myself. i read the post over and over and am ashamed. please accept my apologizes and this will never happen again. :-(

Very classy, dude. A lot of us have sent e-mails & posted things on Forums that we later regretted. It takes a lot of guts to publicly admit a mistake.

ok, here I am in a hotel room in Phoenix and FINALLY get this internet hooked up an I see this thred....Oh man! Thanks Todd for crackin me up...been a VERY long day....Look, I am really lookin forward to fishin this season with NKFT (a first for me) and there is a lot of ins an outs to putting on a tourniment...some things I beleive must be govern by a vote. BnT has been very good about that as I have seen from afar (I have not fished any BnT tourneys except for Naci) and from hearing from NKFT's Pres. I believe he has the right idea of a great Kickboat/float tube club.
Heres my report, "Make the right decisions" this is the title to my report....Launched an went right along the camp ground..right away saw that the bite was way better then it had been a week or so ago there. Came upon a point right away that had them jumping all over the place. But! didn't connect, unfortunitly thought that moving on would be good....o'well, proceeded to go into the big cove and got blanked...then went across to the other side right in front of the dam and lost about 3 good ones right at my feet working a hula grub, any one have any good ideas about modifing a Revenge weedless football jig? then headed back along the same side that didn't give me much until I got to the cove right across from the Marina (same place that Cris kicked ass) I was kickin ass with purple zipper Robo Worm, so much that when I was gettin close to the wiegh in I got hit again. This was for my fourth. All I can say about Sunday at San Antonio is BLANKED! a bad desicion to go back into Harris creek....All in all, this is what I crave, a lake full of Floattubers and kickboaters, a very good time with some very talented fishermen....We can all learn more from each other....Thanks!!!!

Mr. Justfishin, you're way out of line for a couple of reasons. First, don't use the Forum to attack people. If you have something to say to Chris, you should have said it at the weigh-in, or pick up the phone & call him. Second, if your club likes having good turnouts, it's usually not a good strategy to rip the participants.

Those of us who have fished with Mr. Z in float tube tournies & pro-ams know he's a great stick & a great competitor. Plus, who would be dumb enough to lie about their weight when they're putting the fish on a scale & someone is writing down the results, which will eventually be published on the web?

This is getting way out of control.1st off this is not a NKFT issue and IMO isnt an issue at all. I know there was a question about the BNT weighmaster having his hand on the scale and thats why people are questioning the weight. 2nd personal bashing of anyone on this forum is not tolerated. To me this sounds like a proceedure issue and should have been brought to the attention of the BNT weighmaster right as the weight was called. He would have had no problem putting the fish back on the scale like I have had to do at times in the past. You could have also emailed me prior to putting this on the forum and making everyone look bad. Bottom line this dual BNT/ NKFT event was a mess from the beginning and we dont plan to do any more in the future. I am not saying I dont understand your concerns I am just saying your approach was totally in the wrong. CZ is a valued staff member of BNT and doesnt deserve to be beat up and questioned in public without going through the proper channels 1st. I am going to make a proceedure change that will fix any question about the weight of fish for all BNT events in the future and for all you that know BNT if you ever have a question ask right away, myself or Paul would bemore then happy to help you. Were all in this for the same reason, to catch fish amongst friends. Lets put this to rest now and go fishing.

MAN I GOT SPANKED AT BOTH PLACES!! x( SATURDAY I DECIDED TO MAKE A LONG PADLLE THAT PROVED NOT TO BE A GOOD CHOICE, AS I ONLY MANAGED 1 KEEPER ON BRASS-N-GLASS THEN I SWITCHED TO A SPOON AND GOT 4 IN ABOUT AN HOUR ALL SHORTS. I CRANKED,SPOONED,BLADED AND DRAGGED A JIG THE REST OF THE TIME WITH NO MORE BITES. I PADDLED BACK TO THE WEIGH IN AREA AND STARTED FISHING TO THE LEFT OF THE RAMP AND GOT MY 2ND KEEPER THE 1 MORE SHORT AND THAT WAS IT 2 FISH FOR 2.4 OUCH!! SUNDAY I GOT UP AND SAW OVERCAST AND THOUGHT ALL RIGHT MAYBE WE CAN PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER TODAY....NOT!! I HAD NEVER SEEN THE LAKE AND HAD NO PLAN SO I JUST FISHED FROM THE LAUNCH ON BACK HARRIS CREEK. I CRANKED AND BLADED FOR A GOOD PART OF THE DAY TO ONLY MANAGE 2 BITES AND 0 HOOKUPS, I WAS LOST I FOUND ALOT OF WATER THAT LOOKED GREAT WITH FISH BUT NOBODY WAS HOME. ANYWAYS THATS MY BORING REPORT. IT WAS GREAT TO SEE ALL YOU GUYS AGAIN THOUGH, GREAT JOB CASEY,PAUL AND CHRIS. SEE YA AT THE NEXT ONE.............

I stunk-up the place on Saturday, sticking one measly 1# fish on a darthead and missing a bunch more. After talking to CZ, I think I was fishing too deep.

On Sunday I managed to redeem myself a little, brought in 3 smallies for around 4#, 1 on a carolina lizard and 2 on the trusty wart. I fished a steep rocky bank for nothing in the morning, waited until the sun had been on it for a few hours, then went back and banged those 2 in about 10 minutes on the crankbait. On a nice winter day, those smallies will move up shallow to sun themselves after the shallows warm up a little.

However, too little, too late -- ended up in 4th I believe. Oh, well...
