Where can I fish with my kickboat in Bakersfield?

I know Ming Lake is off limits. What about Hart Park? Anywhere else that's not too hard to launch?

Hart Park has fish and you can float it. Not much there though. Like pimpn said you could try Democrat, but you'll need a trolling motor to get back to them. Couple of the guys went there Saturday and they scratched a couple. I would try Truxton actually. Good healthy(not huge) fish. Average probably 1 1/2 lbs. I've caught up to 5 pounders from there. Usually one or two 3 lb. kickers in the mix. Aarons Magic and pumpkin colors seem to work best for me. If we haven't had the baby yet, maybe I could meet you there.

On a side note, Ming has some hogs. I caught four fish yesterday on Brush Hawgs. There's always a couple of 10's that come out of there every year. Unfortunately, they're usually incidentals caught by the trouters on a nightcrawler or something x( and they're usually taken home for dinner.

Right on. Thanks for the info guys!

Todd, where are you fishing at Ming? It all seems so shallow. I've got this weekend open I think? :-)

I fished the inlet end of Ming. They were on the outside edges of the weeds. That lake is shallow though. Everything is kinda iffy for now. Hit me up on Friday. If the weather stays decent all week, it oughta be decent.
