Well the good thing is that I caught fish. :D 3.5, 2.1, 1.7 that I weighed (seven total). Not too bad. Better than none :-)

The lake was very still most of the day with just a little wind about 3:00. Fished Yorty Creek out but not quite to the mouth from 7:15 AM to 2:30 PM. Watermelon/Red Flake Senko is all I could get fish on. Water is very clear. Could see the fish (dinks). No red tails, did not see any beds, but they were shallow, 2-8'.

x( Now for the bad part of an otherwise perfect day.

My van got broken into again at (Yorty Creek – Lake Sonoma). Could not believe it, AGAIN (last time was in Feb., week before the Tournament)! Checked the doors when I left and they were locked! When I returned the drivers door was unlocked (must have used slim-jim). Totally ransacked the thing again, kind of broke the glove box even though it was not locked. Got about $150 of stuff if I go out and replace it tomorrow.

Filed report with Sheriff and Ranger (again). Rangers would not specifically say it but they know they have a problem there but the boss has to allocate more man-hours to try to resolve it. So, left a message for Perry Crowley - Park Manager 707-433-9483 (not that 60 people leave him messages ;) as the squeaky wheel get's the grease) also. Sheriff said basically the same thing, only two officers for everywhere up there.

All was good till I got back to the van. }( }( Drove home totally stressed, P’s off, disappointed and angry!}( }( Lousy way to end the day! Damn those guys, work all week so I can fish and enjoy myself on the weekend and get ripped off again.:(

Was going to go back out tomorrow, but not now. No more fishing for me this weekend! x(

Thanks for listening! :+

John

x( :-( That sucks John!!!!!! I just had someone steal a rod/reel combo (with a $40 bait on it) last week. Luckily it was my cheapest rod. But to just go out and replace everything would have cost me over $200 :o

What all did you lose? If I have anything laying around that I might be able to help you replace, I'd be happy to do so :-) You can post here or drop me an email if you want.

All fishing stuff is safe!:7

They got a AC Power Supply for my laptop, Power Supply for my cell phone, a little Dolorme GPS thingy and Head Set for my cell phone (all in the glove box). Nothing that was visable was taken.

Thanks anyways, very nice of you. Live and learn I guess, next time, like I should have learned, the van will get emptyed in a pile before I leave the garage. Just sucks I have to do that too, yet another step to go fishing!

One of the Rangers called to follow up on the report, I am sure I will be getting a call from the Park Manager on Monday. Hope he has a solution.

Dang! That sucks dude. There definitely is a problem at Sonoma. You're not the only one and it happens too often.

There are advantages to driving a crappy old station wagon. ;)

Thought about that, but, no.

Saturday Morning, hiding to find a bad guy, who may or may not show up. Not getting to fish, while watching everyone else. Nope, can't do it. :D

However, I do expect the Rangers to make some adjustments to the way they have been supporting that park / launch.

Wow John, that sucks big time. It sounds like we should go park your van there again and double back and watch it after stringing a good rope up to the nearest tree if you know what I mean. Sorry to hear the bad luck, but at least it sounds like you got into some good fish.

Does anyone have an alarm on the car?
You might be able to fish in hearing distance of the alarm.?

Sorry to hear the bad news John x(
Good to hear you caught fish.

I always think that a very large snake in the back seat is a great deterent. Nothing like a hit from a Diamondback to discourage theives. :)
