#29607, "Yorte Creek yesterday"

Sunday (yesterday) Yorte Creek 7:10 AM - 2:45 PM - Very Light clouds in AM and SUNNY with a beautiful roasting 100 degrees +! 78 to 84 degree water, 1-2' brown visibility, still and quite in the AM and light wind afternoon. One other kick boat launching, wide open untouched water.

Started by parking lot corner and worked the bank out just before the camping area, across and back to the ramp.

OK, just cause I bought it and had it I threw the 4-eyes a couple times in the morning but you know the answer. Zero. But some day, it’s gonna be a biggem!

Then White, Chartreuse and Orange Persuader Spin Bait, nothing, Rat-L-Trap (Minnow, silver blue bleeding red hooks) nothing, Drop Shop (5" dark green Senkos to Robo purple, pink to pinkish brown) nothing (all the local stores are out of my Watermelon Red, as I guess others like that one too).

Wacky rigged suspended with sliding bobber from 2' to 5' above the weeds a Senko "Lum Chart" (dark green with purple green and little red flake with chartreuse tail) & Smoke Blue flake and got two (includes the one that got away story for another day).

Hey almost forgot to flip! Tried Watermelon red small beaver with heavy bullet pegged weight. Nothing then put on a crawdad colored shaped Woodsac something like a beaver that I got from him at the BNT delta event and WAM fish finally on 2:15 PM! Then missed two, thanks JAKE, the 100-degree day won, but caught fish. Three fish for the day, of course one of those got away story.

Two-landed weight was probably 1# and 3#. Had fun, fished, was comfortable and got my little head cooked in the sun! Still worn out this morning!

So, what would you have done? Interested in the feedback and other ideas to try next time!

See ya on the water!

John

I probably would have started with a white buzzbait, right up against the bank. A Senko would have been at the ready for any missed blow-ups.

I'd try a shallow crankbait, using deeper diving models as the sun got higher, or a T-rigged 6" curl tail worm stitched over and around points down to about 30 feet. I don't really fish deeper than that. Or at least VERY rarely.

Stitching worked really well for me on a 4th of July weekend when Yorty was a zoo. Shshshsh... Don't tell anyone though. Most still think all the fish are in the trees. LMAO :7 }(
