My partner Steve and I fished the WRL on the Delta yesterday in what turned out to be a brutal bite. We had 96 big boats and 8 small boats for a total of 104 boats launching out of Russo's. Went pretty smooth and somewhat entertaining watching some of the last guys launching. ;)

I'll make the story short and sweet. We were the 4th flight, hit Mildred on the outgoing tide and stuck a 5.10 in the first 10 minutes of fishing. We caught one other dink the rest of the day. End of story!

We went against our gut during the middle of the day to run south. We heard from a few of Steve's buddies there were limits from his club caught down there. 2 of the top 3 boats in WRL went south...

We somehow managed 19th place and cashed a check with the 1 keeper! Crazy! We found out over 1/2 the field blanked. We caught either the 6th or 7th big fish for our tournament (they paid 5). Amazing...

Not sure how John Crews and Skeet got their fish but they deserved every bite!
