Here's my report.

Day 1 after debating which spot I should fish I decided to launch out of the casino instead of Redbud. I got in the water and didn't want to travel too far cause I wanted to fish the casino bay. I watched several boats come into the bay so I hugged the shore and chucked an uncle manny minnow for nothing. The sun was starting to come up and the boats were getting ready to blast off. I listened to the national anthem with the rest of the won bass guys, watched them blast off and went into the casino bay to start fishing.

There was bait everywhere in there. I threw chatterbait, LV, more nanny Minnow, and flipped for not a bite. I decided to leave the bay and head out down to the right towards lands end. I picked up a senko fish 3-13lb just outside the bay to get started. Continued down the tullies til I got into lands end. The water started to get shallow as I got into the slough so I turned around and headed out after picking up a few short fish.

I headed straight towards the opposite side of the bay to some more tullies. I came across a one hundred yard stretch where I git into the fish. Pulled up to a tullies that stuck out pretty far and flipped a senko fish for 4-4lb, five yards latter another senko fish for 5-9lb. After landing and putting into the well I drifted back to where I started. Instead of rowing back up to next spot I started flipping a braver with 1.25oz tungsten and punching skirt deep in the tullies. I hook up and fish got off and then did it again in this same 10-15 yard stretch that I just got the 4 and 5 from. Now I'm excited, I know there here and I can get my limit fish. I started flipping senko first to edge of tullies and then beaver way back in them. Picked up limit fish 2-9lb and then culled it out an hour later with another 5-11lb.

I left and went back towers launch throwing chatterbait and lv for a couple of missed bites. Called it a day.

Day 2 I launched out of the same spot hoping to get 13-14lbs. I decided to head towards lands end right off the back to fish the bay itself in the morning. I was fishing along as I heard some fish going crazy up towards the shore. I moved in to check it out. Heard the national anthem start up so took my hat off and listened. Got to the shore line where all the fish were and picked up a 3-12. As I put the fish in the well here comes 2 boats cruising in to the bay where I just left and wanted to go back to. Well I blew it there. One of those boats camped out there all day. Damn! More boats came threw so I started to head to my stretch of tullies a lot earlier than planned. As I'm moving over a boat pulls a hundred yards in front of me and puts his trolling motor down right at my stretch of tullies. So I moved in behind him since he was throwing a swimbait and I wanted to flip. I picked up 2 fish within 10 minutes and watched the camped out boat and his co angler pick up at least one limit. Man already more boat traffic then all of day 1. I let those tullies rest for an hour and came back to pick up # 4. When I came back I had 5 fish or so roll moving quite a bit of water on either my senko or beaver. Every time I would get excited knowing each and every one of those would cull out my 2-9. It never happened tho. There was not quite as much wind as day 1 so I think as the fish turned to my bait they would see me and take off instead of hitting my bait. Ended up only catching 4 keepers for 12.38 and a total of 31.59 for the weekend. Just short of the win.

Congradulations Rich.

Taylor.

Thanks for the report! sounds like you had a pretty good tournament. Sure wish I could have been up there but not in the cards. I was hosted a BD party for Dani on Saturday, beer and BBQ, but I did manage to get to the range on Sunday. Swampy and I may be out on his boat Saturday; sure hope so as I haven't gotten out much this year.

My report

Day-1
I launched out of State park right by camp. I rowed straight to Cole creek to fish it and the point that's out there, still dark with only 3/4 of moonlight to navigate by, I was feeling good and confident.

Started out throwing my trusty Red and Black Buzzbait over a shallow flat in 2ft of water, about my fifth cast a fish takes it and the fight is on! I get it in the net and it looks to be close to 5.0lbs! Off to a good start. On my next cast to the same spot another fish sucks it down and I can only hold my reel handle still and see my spool giving up line! Sadly, this fish shakes off x(

I re-group my thoughts and continue fan casting the Buzzer for nada.
It's gettin light now so I switch to my next rod with a Revenge Jig tied on. Start flippin some tullies in the creek when a fish bites and I set on a good one. I net it and it looks to be pushing 5.0lbs! in the well in goes.

I'm stoked now and still by myself, no other boats around. I kept fishing around the area for quite a while but no more bites, so I decide to move on back towards camp. My next fish was caught within a stones throw of camp, off a little tullie point on the jig, it looks between 3-4lbs, into the well it goes for a boat ride!
I keep fishing this area but can't find more fish.

I decide to row to a spot that I've caught fish before, it took me about a half hour to row there, and it paid off as I caught my limit fish, a chunky 3.0lber. I head back to go to County park for wiegh in. Day-1 (13.65lbs).

Day-2
My plan today is to repeat day-1. Started with the Buzzer again in the moonlight, after a couple casts, Bam! fish sucks it down and it's a good one, I tell myself to keep lots of pressure I don't want it to shake off like the day before.

I get it in the net, and it looks like a 5.0 to me!
Yes! Great start! I fan cast the area some more, but no takers. I decide to explore the creek a little deeper still throwing the Buzzer and also a popping frog.

The frog gets tottally ignored but I had to try it. Picked up the Buzzbait for one more try as it's becoming dawn. I cast the Buzz towards some grass on the bank and a fish blows up on it as my rod doubles over! Oh shiat! I get it in the net and this beast is pushing 7.0lbs!

As I work my way back out of Cole creek I don't pick up any more fish on the top water, it's daylight now so I switch to my jig rod and start flippin everything that looks good.

I hit the same spot as Day-1 but no fish there. As I start to kick my way back across the creek channel dragging the jig, I get bit sort of by surprise, I lean back on the rod and there's a good fish on! I can see my line rising quickly to the surface and this Bass launched airborn and spits the jig back at me x( I think this could have been my winning fish...NOT.
I kept flippin into cover when another Bass takes it without me even feeling a thing, all of a sudden there's a fish on! but it's gets off as I wasn't ready for it and didn't really SET the hook ;(

After a while without any action I make me way back towards camp, no more action on the jig, so I switch up and go with a spinning rod with a split shot baby brush hog. Back at the small tullie point I git bit and lose a 3 maybe 4lber as it jumps and gives me it's middle fin! No boat ride for you sucker. I still need 2 fish and the clocks ticking.

I kept fishing the area, hoping to get 2 more bites. Alternating between the jig and the baby brush hog. I finally got those bites a 3lber and a 2.0lber on the baby brush hog . I was happy to have a limit and made my way back to County for wiegh in.

Day-2 (16.90lbs)

Total (30.55lbs) for 4th place and Tourney Big Fish (6.78lbs).

I want to thank SCBBBC club and officers for all there hard work in putting this tourney together. I almost didn't go, but so glad I did!
Congrats to everyone that caught fish, but especially the big cheese Rich Caro for the win! I've got your number buddy, wait till next year! Dave M.
