3:44am-Cameron Smith came by my house in San Clemente to pick me up and load up my gear.  I was definitely packed a lot lighter than the previous trip to the Columbia River.  Still, we had all the tackle and gear we owned.  We wanted to get on the road early to breeze through LA and the Central Valley.  We blazed all the way to Redding up the 5.  We pulled in around 2:00pm.  We reserved the cabin at Fawndale, and checked in. Talk about a killer little place.  Nice and cozy.  The price was definitely right too!  $210 for the whole week and it fit three guys and two boats.  Great hookups for the boats, and plenty of external lights.  James Niggemeyer joined us later that evening.  He came from Lake Oroville, where he was fishing a BASS Federation Regional Event.

Cameron and I got a killer meal at the OutBack Steak House in town.  Good food for sure.  We spent the night rigging rods and straightening out gear.  The weather was rainy.

James pulled in late, and we helped him get his boat away and personal stuff stored.
