I just got off the WB website and found a letter from Ranger Rob at casitas that had been sent to Ron Cervenka. The letter states that Ranger Rob is working on a program with Larry Elshere. The plan would be to have boats tagged to the trailers and then quarantined for 10 days. The tagging system would be bought at Casitas for $25.00 and then it would lock your boat to the trailer. You would take your boat home for 10 days and quarantine it. After that period of time you could go fish Casitas and break the seal to launch. A new tag would be reapplied upon leaving so you could come back later. If you want to help with this project contact Ranger Rob at rweinerth@casitaswater.com Peace Rich

I talked to Ranger Rob this morning. They are presenting the lock out tag out system @ 8:30 am. The system has to be put on the official agenda before it can officially be accepted or denied. This may take a couple weeks or more and I have no Idea how this mornings meeting went. I do not want to call and bother Rob since he is working so hard for us and I do not want to take up his time. There is a fishing day for kids coming up the weekend after next and I will probably help with that. I have offered to help Ranger Rob however I can and will be off the 17th > 27th of this month. Also the vote for Cachuma is today.
If this program is adopted at Casitas it may be the beginning of the Clean Lakes Coalition. I am hopeful that it will work and I will let you know what I find out when I find it out.

I dont know that there is a coalition yet. The idea is to use the lock out tag out system as a tool to start one. What web site were you referring to? Rich

It would be sweet if there was a small network of places, not neccesarily at the lake, but say in various spots around Socal that you could go and get an inspection and a lockout put on. Then you could go fish any lake you wanted after the 10 days has expired. No real reason to have to drag it all the way to the lake, when it realistically could be inspected anywhere, as long as it was done by the proper personel.

I just got back from the Casitas board meeting. I think the lock and seal to the trailer idea is going to work. The board seems to like it and seems optimistic. It has not been officially presented to them yet as it has to be on the agenda for them to make a decision. They do know what it entails and have been presented with copies of the plan. I will know more after the 26th that is the next board meeting. If I was a betting man I would wager that it will happen within 2-4 months. Peace Rich
